Impact

Advanced research by the Centers of Disease Control and Prevention tells us that the number of people with food allergies are on the rise and a similar increase is seen with consumers incorporating a plant-based diet. These findings are also true for our primary service area: the East Bay. With 3-5% of the U.S. population being vegan and the East Bay having a population of ~2.8 million, about 140,100 people don’t consume dairy and eggs. About 12.5% of the nation’s population has at least one food allergy, and this is about 350,250 people in the East Bay.

 

Green Flour Bakery’s ingredient makeup serves both of these needs and the growing demand for vegan and allergen-friendly dessert options. We provide access to high-quality, freshly-baked goods that consumers can enjoy.

 

We are involved in our community through local markets and festivals. These community-based events allow patrons to learn more about Green Flour Bakery while having a positive vegan food experience.

History & Background

As a vegan family, it is a challenge finding vegan food options in our area. This was especially true for dessert. Arielle and her family would always have to travel far distances, sometimes outside of the county, to find something, especially when it came to something sweet.

 

In 2021, she decided to change that.

 

What started as a vegan cookies business soon blossomed into a full offering of custom cakes and catering services for all celebrations - everything prepared without dairy, eggs, and peanuts.

 

With the number of people with a food allergy or incorporating a plant-based diet, we are determined to passionately crafts high-quality vegan and allergen-friendly desserts, making celebrations and everyday moments sweeter for diverse dietary needs.
